As a background to this discussion, I will explain briefly on the issues between Nik Mahani & me/Umar Pasha.
Nik Mahani’s first disagreement with me is in the management of the volunteers/activists for Dinar dirham-related activities. I rebuffed her unilateral desire to control everything under KGT when this was first mooted, in my capacity at that time as the WIM’s Malaysia representative (I was already appointed by Umar Pasha informally), but I subsequently relented based on her argument of accounting for KGT’s funds used to mobilise these activities. This arrangement was finally abrogated by Umar as KGT is not keen to directly account for such overheads, instead preferring to outsource it.
Nik Mahani’s next disagreement with me was on the design concepts for a Dinar dirham program called “Dinihari Dinar” – see www.diniharidinar.my. She wanted the Kelantan coin face but I insisted on the WIM face of the coin shown on the program materials. She relented when Umar affirmed my choice for the design, with the same main justification of promoting the common face of the coin instead of Kelantan, applicable to events that are happening in Malaysia, not just in Kelantan. (I have other reasons too for sticking to the design concept requiring the WIM face, but that’s another story.)
Nik Mahani’s next disagreement with me is on the production of the multi-purpose Eid cards (including an invitation to the Dinihari Dinar Eid ‘Open House’ function), a material also under the Dinihari Dinar program. Although she objected to the production of the cards, I ignored her as I was under Umar’s specific instructions to produce such materials. She threatened to remove me from the Dinihari Dinar program, including organising the Eid ‘Open House’ function, but Umar set aside her intentions.
Nik Mahani continued to prevent Dinihari Dinar ‘Open House’ function promotions to proceed, resulting in Umar giving her an ultimatum either for her to stop her interference in the activities organised under his purview (outsourced to me), or, for her to be removed from office; this happening one week before the Open House function. At this point, Nik Mahani starts to openly oppose Umar, by refusing to further sign cheques for any activities not approved by her even though Umar has approved it.
Following the fall-out between Umar Pasha & Nik Mahani culminating in a heated argument in a meeting at KGT’s office in Kuala Lumpur a few days after the Open House function, the following transpired:
Nik Mahani makes clear in that office argument that she wants Umar Pasha out of KGT, even threatening to deport Umar Pasha from Malaysia.
In her desperation to oust Umar, Nik Mahani begins to resort to various lies, baseless accusations & allegations, and complete fiction to vilify and sully Umar Pasha’s name (not to mention also especially my name, and the names of several other individuals supporting Umar Pasha).
In her efforts to attempt to appear convincing, she approached everyone near & far to spread these lies incessantly, from officials in KGT including all members of the Board of Directors, to any remote parties that has got any business with KGT including foreign mints, individuals, etc.
At that office meeting, Nik Mahani surreptitiously suspended/’sacked’ Umar Pasha & Gany (she does not have authority to do so upon Umar) and ‘forced’ Khairuden (a KGT staff) to hand-over KGT’s vault keys to her.
Following this commotion, Umar called for an emergency meeting including myself and a few other individuals that has been affected by Nik Mahani’s lies.
In this emergency meeting called by Umar, it is decided for us to present our case to a Director of KGT, Ir. Mustafa, who is also the CEO of the parent company, PMBK. It is primarily to clear the lies perpetrated by Nik Mahani and asking for her removal. I also made a personal offer to Umar to expedite the removal of Nik Mahani through my connections.
Having presented our case to Ir. Mustafa (the day after the argument between Nik Mahani & Umar at the office), the activists of the Dinar dirham movement held an emergency meeting affirming support to Umar and rejecting Nik Mahani.
Additional disclosure to Ir. Mustafa were made by some of us the following day.
A quiet weekend ensued, with Umar out-of-the-loop and uncertainty looming. From the feedback received in Kelantan, Nik Mahani has managed to spew her venomous lies to poison many minds in Kelantan. At this point, it is uncertain how Umar will fare in KGT. At someone’s advice, Umar was requested to contact Dato’ Hussam (the Chairman of the KGT Board of Directors) directly to present his case. This is because it appears that Ir. Mustafa is seeking to demote/remove/suspend BOTH Umar & Nik Mahani due to this commotion.
Umar managed to get hold of Dato’ Hussam for an appointment in Kelantan the next day; so Umar, & myself flew over to Kota Bahru, Kelantan the next day.
In Kelantan, Umar was briefed on the ground situation. Umar was brought to see Dato’ Hussam.
The meeting that evening between Umar and Dato’ Hussam was disappointingly brief & cold; but Umar managed to stress his wishes for Nik Mahani to be removed from KGT.
The next day was supposed to have been a Board Meeting for KGT to decide on the matter, but it was delayed to the day after. During the day of the delayed Board Meeting, the situation turned out as expected that BOTH Umar & Nik Mahani were suspended from KGT (although BOTH were relegated to a ‘Consultant’ position) and a caretaker appointed in the interim. At this point, Umar could no longer be reach by me for his feedback. The suspension was a strategy to remove both Umar & Nik Mahani from the company, and then subsequently re-appoint Umar as the Executive Director (a position Nik Mahani held earlier) and a new CEO will be appointed. Nik Mahani would then no longer be in the picture.
Umar could not be contacted for the next few days, until I met him at the usual Sunday wird. At that event, Umar affirmed most of what was reported, with the exception of what will happen next/following the suspension. The interim caretaker is essentially clueless as to how to run the company.
Therefore, coming from the various sources available, the current situation is as follows:
BOTH Umar Pasha & Nik Mahani has been suspended from their respective positions, CEO & Executive Director, accordingly.
BOTH Umar Pasha & Nik Mahani has been appointed as Consultants to KGT.
An interim caretaker (official post unknown) has been appointed to run the company for the time being.
Neither Umar Pasha nor Nik Mahani has executive powers now, therefore clearly Nik Mahani is NOT the CEO (as per the impression of someone).
The Board of KGT will take some time to deliberate on the company’s next step, including to supposedly decide on the executive (re-)appointments of Umar.
It is therefore assumed/concluded:
Nik Mahani clearly does not want to work with WIM, which is inextricably linked to Umar Pasha, and currently also to me.
In conclusion, there is absolutely no future for Nik Mahani to be part of the ongoing efforts of Umar Pasha. Her self-detrimental behaviour leaves no room for us to accommodate such an evil traitor in our midst. As predicted, she is already talking about disassociating from WIM – a trend we have seen elsewhere in the history of the Dinar dirham’s contemporary (r)evolution.
WIM will continue its role in Malaysia to ensure the availability of WIM-authorised Dinar dirham.
